Hello everyone
After the cancellation of our Jimna QRC event earlier this year we have decided to run two events on the same weekend. Yes, Two Events. The APX Suspension Imbil Rally on Saturday and The APX Suspension Jimbil Rally on Sunday. Jimbil being the replacement for the Jimna event rerun in Imbil. Both events will be single heat Rally Sprint’s with approximately 135km’s of competitive stages over the two days.
A Rally Regularity event will be included with controlled format of maximum speeds monitored and should present an exciting challenge to minimise point loss by hitting your target times.
Crews in this event will traverse the same roads as the rally.
Apart from this two-day format there will be couple of other changes to the Imbil event. Firstly, I will be taking on the role of Clerk of Course and giving Mal Bartolo a well-deserved break after several years.
This year will also see us move the service park and rally HQ to the Borumba Deer Park on Yabba Creek Rd just 9 km’s from Imbil. The Deer Park has great facilities and plenty of room for the service park, regroup and refuel zone. It also offers a good toilet and shower block and well stocked kiosk.
Camping well be available from Friday the 22nd to Sunday the 24th. We will be asking you to cover the cost of camping and use of the facilities. The camping fees will be collected when completing your entry form online and we will then pass the fees onto the Deer Park. The cost will be just $22.00 per adult per night and $10.00 per child (3 -15 yrs) per night. Please make sure you list the names for anyone in your team that will be camping and the number of nights.
A list will be given to the caretakers at the Deer Park and will be checked as you arrive on Friday or Saturday morning. Anyone not the list will be asked to pay on entry to the park. There are also powered sites available if you want to bring your vans or campers. For these sites, please contact the Deer Park directly on (07) 54845196 to make any arrangements.
I hope to see you all there for what is going to be a great weekend.
Regards
Tony Kabel
