Two-time Dakar winner Toby Price will head west in May and join the Forest Rally, with the off road superstar confirming his entry in the Subaru WRX Challenge.
A household name in Australian motorsport, Price will make his first appearance in the Australian Rally Championship’s (ARC) one-make series steering a Maximum Motorsport prepared Subaru WRX on the iconic Western Australia rally roads near Nannup.
“I’m absolutely stoked to be making my ARC debut as part of the Subaru WRX Challenge at Forest Rally,” Price said.
Price needs little introduction, with a motorsport resume that includes two Dakar wins on two wheels, as well as a number of Australian Off Road Championships, also on two wheels.
The 37-year-old is certainly no stranger to racing on four wheels of course, having also secured many impressive victories at off road events around the world predominantly in his famous Red Bull Trophy Truck.
His long list of achievements also includes an impressive nine wins at the iconic Finke Desert Race across both two and four wheels.
While he won’t be chasing outright victory in the ARC, the Subaru WRX Challenge class win will certainly be the target.
Price also thanked the numerous organisations who made his ARC debut possible, including the strong support of event organisers WA Car Club as well as On The Brink Motorsport, ARB, Smoothline Notes, PowerPlay, Information Proficiency, Maximum Motorsport and Subaru Australia.
In WA this month Price will again be joined by co-driver Holly Kilbride, the pair having recently competed and tasted success together at Rally Heartland. Their victory at that event sees them also leading the South Australian Rally Championship.
“I can’t wait to get to shakedown and really get to know the Subaru WRX and take on those iconic WA roads with Holly in the co-driver seat.”
“The ARC is so strong right now with some great competition throughout the field. Same goes for the Subaru WRX Challenge, and being a one-make series, there will be some really great battles in our category and I can’t wait to get to WA and tackle this opportunity head on.
“I’ve heard and seen so many amazing things about the Forest Rally, both when it comes to the stages and the unique surface we’ll be rallying on and also how well organised this event is by the WA Car Club.
Price added that 2024 Subaru WRX Challenge winner Glenn Brinkman had also been instrumental in making his and Kilbride’s entry possible.
“Glenn has been a huge supporter in my rally journey to date and being able to join him in the Subaru WRX Challenge is an awesome opportunity, we’ll certainly be fighting hard to make sure he doesn’t have it easy out on stage,” Price added.
The Forest Rally, which doubles as the opening round of the Subaru WRX Challenge in 2025, takes place on 23-25 May in Nannup, Western Australia.
